This themed literature unit will be an exciting way for students to learn about how people and animals adapt to different situations. I have extremely high expectations for all of my students in everything they do, including this unit. This unit allows for a large amount of discussion and some student-led group activities, and I expect every student to be an active participant in all class discussions and group activities. While working in groups, students will need to cooperate with each other and use their communication skills to compromise and solve problems that may arise. I also expect them to complete each class writing assignment and turn in each homework assignment on time and to the best of their ability. The students already know that I expect them to act responsibly and respectfully and those behavior expectations will continue throughout this unit and through the end of the school year.
