Summer Grants Program
Application Process
Each applicant must complete 1) the Application Information Form, 2) answer four short answer essay questions, and 3) complete an employer profile form. You must submit three copies of your completed application by March 9, 2009 at 4:00pm. To assist PILF in distributing the applications to the Selection Committee, please three-hole punch all pages and separate each copy with a paper clip (do not staple them).
The application process is anonymous, unless the Selection Committee determines a need to interview candidates. Thus, in order to preserve the anonymity of applicants, the Application Information Form will be separated from the rest of the application packet. A Selection Committee, consisting of three Seattle University School of Law professors, reviews the applications and conducts interviews if necessary. Final selection of the grant recipients is announced no later than mid April.
Because the written application is very important to the Selection Committee and is the primary basis for its decision, CPD is available for individual meetings with students to discuss grant application essays. If you would like assistance in the application process, we encourage you to reach out to CPD as early as possible. For more information about this service, please contact Stacey Lara-Kerr at slara@seattleu.edu.
The PILF Summer Grant Coordinator does not sit on the Selection Committee. Therefore, please direct all questions to Therese Norton, nortont@seattleu.edu.
