Engineers Without Borders at Seattle University is committed to designing and implementing sustainable engineering projects in developing communities.  Here is a list of our projects with links to more information.

Current

Chirundu, Zambia
Description:
 
Design and construct a community water supply on the Zambezi River

Hagley Gap, Jamaica  
Description:  This project will assist in the design and construction of a retaining wall and composting toilet.   

Wiwili Region, Nicaragua 
Description:  SU-EWB students will collaborate with the Water for People Corps to identify and map drinking water resources for this northern area of the country.

Mae Nam Khun, Thailand
 

Description:  This project will involve the design and construction of a kitchen and eating area for the dormitory. We will also explore the development of a more reliable water source.

Thailand Footbridge (2008) 
Description: 
Designed and constructed a footbridge that connects the dorm that we built in '05-'06 to a new church and community center.

Thailand Safe Water System (2008) 
Description: 
Started a chlorine manufacturing and distribution system for a Thai medical clinic that serves 5000 people in the hills of Mae Nam Khun.

El Porvenir School, Nicaragua  (2008) 
Description:
  Provided a laptop and solar power system for a library in a remote community.

Matagalpa, Nicaragua (2008)
Description:
  SU-EWB students partnered with the SU Chemistry Department to develop coffee production facilities for farmers.

Curtis, Washington (2008) 
Description:
  Provided clean wash water for flood relief workers.

Managua, Nicaragua (2007) 
Description:
  Diverted stormwater from an elementary school's courtyard.

Thailand Water Treatment System (2007)
Description: 
Designed and constructed a drinking water treatment system for the dormitory in Mae Nam Kuhn.

Thailand Dormitory Project (2005-2006)
Description: 
Designed and constructed a dormitory for school children in the remote village of Mae Nam Kuhn, Thailand. 

Tijuana, Mexico (2008) Under Construction
Description:
  Re-design and construct a gray water treatment system.
