
MembershipA student enrolled at Seattle University who is currently majoring in the mechanical engineering, or has an interest in mechanical engineering, is welcome to join the ASME student section. The Student Membership due is $25 per student year (Oct. 1 to Sept. 30 of the following year). Freshman have the option of choosing the regular student membership, or a free limited membership for the first year. During every Fall quarter, first-year students majoring in mechanical engineering (including transfer students) who wish to become a part of ASME student section should see the ASME faculty advisor. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has a program that assists first-year students with membership dues.

Student Membership Benefits
You will receive a one year subscription of Mechanical Engineering magazine (Jan. to Dec.) and ASME News (freshman with free-limited membership will not receive these publicaitons). You will also be eligible to compete in contests, attend ASME meetings at no charge, attend the annual Regional Student Conference, apply for ASME student loan and scholarship, and receive special discounts on car rentals and travel services.
